Johannes Wei(n)mar was born on March 18, 1715 in Bondorf. He always remained in Bondorf, and died here on September 9, 1795. In 1749 he established himself as an independent organ builder. It is not known where he learned the trade. This may have been at Schmahl in Heilbronn. His second son Johann Jakob (1751-1822) also became an organ builder and took over the workshop in 1786.
