Geboren in Tölz op 26 augustus 1670. Hij was leerling van de orgelmakers Dietrich en Löderer. In 1708 vestigde hij zich in Donauwörth. Hij overleed op 29 januari 1738 in Donauwörth, waarna zijn zoon Andreas (1712-1772) de werkplaats voortzette.
