  • Pieter Visser, born on November 3rd, 1940 in Amsterdam, learned the profession of organ builder at the Verschueren company from 1954 until 1959. In that year he immigrated to the United States of America, where he started to work with Holzinger Organs in Los Angeles, and from 1960 to 1966 he worked at the Wicks Organ Company. After a number of years of activity as an aircraft pilot, only working as an organ builder part time, Pieter Visser started his own business in Houston, Texas. Jan Rowland, co-worker of Visser during the Wicks years, joined him, and the in October 1973 the Visser-Rowland Association was founded. The shop was located on Johanna Street in Houston from 1973 until 1999.
  • In 1982, Jan Rowland left the company. Michael Visser (1968), son of Pieter Visser became a companion in later years. The original name was still used. The company moved to Tomball, Texas in 1999, and was renamed Visser & Associates Pipe Organ Builders in February 2000.
