  • In 1974, Lynn Alan Dobson founded the Dobson Pipe Organ Builders organ factory in Lake City, Iowa. Het started to build mechanical organs with slider chests in a classic design. Lyn Dobson retired on February 15, 2020. John Panning, working for the company since 1984, became the new owner and president.
  • On June 15, 2021, a fire destroyed almost completely the building of the company in Lake City.
