• The old church of Maglarp dates back to the Middle Ages. The church building was replaced in 1909 by a new church, centrally located in the village churchyard, but the old church remained. The new building was designed by Harald Boklund and was built in the Gothic Revival style in 1907-1908. The building was dedicated on July 17, 1909. The organ was built in 1908 by Olof Hammarberg.
  
• In 1971 the new church was decommissioned and closed permanently after a last church service on September 16, 1976. The old church was put back into use after a restoration in 1971. The new church had fallen into disrepair, and remained abandoned in the cemetery. The building was demolished in September 2007. The organ was still there, but was in poor condition. It has also been demolished.
