The old church of Maglarp dates back to the Middle Ages. In 1842, Pehr Lund built an organ for the church, which has been preserved in good condition thanks to restorations in 1954 (Einar Berg) and 1974 (Nils-Olof Berg). The church building was replaced in 1909 by a new church, centrally located in the village graveyard. But in 1971 the new church was decommissioned and later closed permanently in 1976. Since then, the old church is again in use as the only church in the village.
