The Hutchings-Votey Organ Company built a new organ for the First Church of Christ, Scientist in St. Louis in 1904-1905, opus 1557 of the company. The organ had three manuals and 35 stops. It was almost not altered since the dedication. The only renovation had been in 1941 by the Kilgen Organ Company. In 1997-2000 a restoration was carried out by Martin Ott, who had to rebuilt the organ with new mechanics, because the original action was in a bad state. The stop list was also enlarged, but everything in style. Consultants were John R. Near and Lawrence I. Phelps.
