- After a renovation of the church building in 1897, a new organ was ordered from Richard Kreutzbach, to replace the organ of Christian Gräbner, organ builder in Dresden, from 1693. The organ was donated to the congregation by Arnold Woldemar von Frege-Welzien. The pipe work of the manuals was largely taken over by Kreutzbach from the old organ of the church in Leipzig-Schönefeld, built by Johann Gottlob Mende in 1820. A new organ was installed in this church by Kreutzbach earlier in the year. The organ was inspected on July 1, 1898.
- Over time the organ has been extensively modified. First, the front pipes were removed in 1917 and later replaced by zinc pipes. A Vox Coelestis, ranging from c°, was also placed on an extra slide. In 1955, the Jehmlich company installed a wind motor. In 1958 Jehmlich carried out a revision during which the disposition was changed. On the first manual the Octave 2' was replaced by a Waldflöte 2' (made from the Principal 4' of the second manual) and the Gamba by a Mixtur. On the second manual all stops were replaced: new Rohrflöte 4' and new Zimbel 3 fach, a Quintatön 8' made from the Gamba from manual I and finally the Octave 2' from manual I was placed as Principal 2' on the slide of the Vox Coelestis.
- The organ was restored by Johannes Lindner in 1989. The major octave (C-B) of the Principal 2' is placed on manual II. In 1993, Lindner installed a new wind motor.
