Built by: Casavant Frères (1914) - opus 553
In the years 1912-1914 the Casavant firm built its opus 553 for the First Baptist Church in Syracuse, New York. Due to a move by the congregation to a new building, the organ was dismantled and stored. It was kept in storage for a long time. The organ was eventually purchased by the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra in 1996, with the intention of placing it in the Robert E. Jacoby Symphony Hall. The Quimby firm restored and rebuilt the organ, after which it was commissioned in March 2001 in Jacksonville.
