- In 1932 the Sauer company built a new organ for the Sankt Paulikirche in Hamburg. Consultant during the construction was Hans Henny Jahnn. The specification was designed in consultation with the organists Friedrich Brinkmann and Mr. Pigeon.
- The organ was overhauled in 1952. The swell box of the third manual was fixed, as well as the crescendo waltz. In 1968 the organ was in an unplayable condition due to the hot air heating. It remained in this condition in the church for a long time.
- In 1991 a committee was set up to restore the organ. The Lobback company worked on the instrument in 1992, allowing it to be used again. However, a thorough restoration was still necessary. In 2010, Bartolt Immer started with the construction of a new organ in the style of Johann Heinrich Wohlien (1822).
