1877 Charles Anneessens  new organ
1978 Verschueren Orgelbouw  restoration

  • In 1877 Charles Anneessens built an organ with 35 registers for the Martinus Church in Princenhage. It had two manuals and an independent pedal. The instrument was arranged in two separate cases. In November 1921 the spire of the tower blew over in a violent storm. The organ suffered major damage as a result. Because there was no money for repairs, it was left standing in this condition. In later years, several registers were removed. Despite various attempts at restoration (Cavaillé-Coll-Mutin (1926), Anneessens (1927) and Verschueren (1939), nothing was done with the organ.
  • After World War II, the church was restored. The organ case disappeared without a trace. In 1977 it was finally decided to restore the instrument. Using the material that was still available, an instrument with one manual and pedal could be made. The current organ case comes from the Sacred Heart Church in Oosterhout, but this front and the console were installed in the church of the H. Maria Boodschap in Zegge since 1970. The organ case was constructed in 1881 by the Gebrüder Müller. The reconstruction was carried out by the company Verschueren, and in 1978 the organ could be inaugurated. It was now placed in front of the church, on the ground floor. Consultant during the work was Hans van der Harst.
