- In 1804, the tower of the church in Hallum collapsed on April 26. The organ from 1768, built by Hinsz, was destroyed. Albertus van Gruisen started building a new organ in 1810, after the restoration of the building had been completed. It had two manuals and pulldown pedals. The instrument was inaugurated on January 31, 1811.
- In later years some modifications were carried out. In 1871 Hardorff installed an independent pedal with four stops. Bakker & Timmenga overhauled the organ in 2003. On June 6, 2003 the instrument was put back into use. Consultant was Jan Jongepier.
- A major restoration has been carried out in the years 2013/2014 by the firm Bakker & Timmenga. The organ case was repainted.
